National Night Out "Special Materials" Youth Art Show Each year the Concord Park Neighborhood Association helps to sponsor National Night Out activities. The event this year will be held on Tuesday, August 1st, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Cross Way, the connecting street between Todd and Lynn Avenues. As a "special event", we are inviting all youths 12 years of age and under who live in this neighborhood to express what this year's National Night Out means to them. To do this, we are asking them to submit a picture showing what this celebration means. The picture can be a drawing, painting, collage or photograph. And, remember, this year's party is a Luau, so your art should reflect what you think about when you think Hawaii! The finished size of all entries must be 8-1/2" X 11" or 9" X 12". All pictures will be displayed at the National Night Out celebration. The first ten (10) entrants who beat the deadline will receive a prize. In order to be eligible for the prize, pictures must be received by Pat Taylor at 2543 Lynn Avenue by Saturday, July 29th at 7:00 p.m. No exceptions. Even if you don't win a prize, your entry will be displayed at the National Night Out event. So, young people, make your picture, be sure and put your name, address. phone #, age and parent's name on the back, and submit it by the deadline. What do you think about Hawaii or a Luau? Is it the Islands? Maybe it's the food or flowers, or a volcano. Perhaps it's play- ing, swimming, or surfing in the ocean, or collecting beautiful shells on the shore. And, National Night Out is when we all give a "going-away" party for crime and drugs! Questions? Please call Pat Taylor, 689-1472 |
