Detroit Avenue Sidewalks

  • Detroit Avenue Complete Streets Project

    The adopted 2014-2015 Fiscal Year Transportation Improvement Program includes Project No 2276 (Detroit Avenue Pedestrian & Bicycle Improvements).

    The City of Concord had applied for a OneBayArea Grant that would install a traffic signal at the Lynn Ave & Detroit Ave intersection. The Contra Costa Transportation Authority has approved this $2.2 million dollar project. On July 13, 2013, the community along with Mayor Helix and Supervisor Mitchoff celebrated with a ribbon cutting. Read the Contra Costa Times article.

  • Walkability Audit of Detroit AveWalking Audit Group Passes Bus Stop on Detroit Ave.

    Walkibily Audit Next Steps MemorandumOn the 18th of August 2012, 30-45 residents of the Monument Community - including members of the Central County First Five Regional Advocacy Group and representatives of the Monument Community Partnership - worked with Contra Costa County Health Services and the National Environmental Protection Agency to do a "walk audit" of Detroit Ave to identify issues that make it unsafe to walk or bike. Participants walked from Clayton Rd to Monument Blvd, recording areas of concern.
