What's New:
The City of Concord held a neighborhood meeting at the
Meadow Homes School on January 20, 2015 to
present the refined plans
for the Detroit Avenue Bicycle and Pedestrian
Improvements Project. The refinements include having the budget
for the traffic signals be used instead for pavement
rehabilitation to fix the potholes and puddles. Also, the plans
now include more street lighting and a 4-way stop at Walters
Way. The project was
presented to the City Council on March
10th. The construction contract was awarded by the City Council on July 28, 2015.
The project construction work began the week of August 10th 2015, with completion expected in Spring of 2016. Please see the
project's webpage for latest updates of completed and projected work, and more information.
Concord's popular Meadow Homes Spray Park, at 1351 Detroit Ave., is closed for the 2015 season.
The spray park will re-open in May of 2016 with the opening day dependent upon the water situation in California.
While the City of Concord is very aware of the drought and conserves water whenever possible, the spray park was designed to filter, treat and recycle the water it uses.
A later starting of the operating season and slightly reduced hours of service will result in the water park using 25 percent less water.
For more information, see the Spray Park webpage,
or call the spray park hotline, (925) 671-3366.

The
Concord Police Department is urging the public to take some basic
precautions to protect vehicles and personal property due to a recent
state-wide and Bay Area spike in car-related crime. The department
needs the awareness, vigilance, and support of the public to simply
make it harder for car burglars and thieves to commit these thefts.
